The second drop of the Thomas Reynolds collection — that’s James Blake‘s turn as a creative consultant for Fila — made its appearance in the hardcourts of Australia before heading to Europe for this week’s ABN AMRO World Tennis tournament in the Netherlands. He lost early (to Marcos Baghdatis) in the first round.
Brackets: The quarters for the tourney are now set: Davydenko plays Melzer, Soderling‘s up against Benneteau, Youzhny faces Monfils, and Djokovic will try to keep his top seeding with Leonardo Mayer taking a stab. (Men’s Draw)
Fila: The goods will drop later this month. Stay tuned!

James Blake couldn’t look better in his new spring 2010 Thomas Reynolds collection by Fila. This line of his is very sharp and he looks dynamite. I can’t wait to see more from the new line. This classic yet elegant sublimated top compliments the strong presence that James makes when he steps on court. I think he is going to come back strong in the next tournament.
What are we to make of James Blake’s endorsements? I would take it as a strong endorsement of Nike footwear, that James wears the Cage shoe with what looks like black tape over the swooshes, even while Fila pays him to promote their brand. Likewise, I would think Dunlop must make great sticks if Blake uses them while being paid by Dunlop, while being paid by Prince, and now while not being paid at all.
