On August 27, 2016, guests at Langham Place, New York had the opportunity to interact with tennis legend and Olympian Andy Murray during An Evening With Andy Murray.
In light of the fact that Murray’s favorite hobby when he’s not wowing crowds on the courts is table tennis, the team at Langham Place teamed up with SPIN New York to present an evening of ping pong, party snacks and plentiful cocktails from the team at Ai Fiori, Langham Place’s Michelin-starred restaurant. Andy played a few matches with the pros from SPIN, and took time to take photos with every guest. Chef Romeo Stivaletti of Langham Place specifically prepared a taco bar, as chips and guacamole are two of Andy’s favorite snacks.
Andy Murray opens US Open 2016 vs world no.82
Andy Murray opens his bid for the US Open 2016 title versus world no. 82 Lukas Rosol. The two of them aren’t on the best of terms. When they bumped into each other in Munich , they did that literally and Murray told Rosol the following: “No one likes you on the tour. Everyone hates you.”
But the two seem to have patched things up ever since: “Obviously a few things happened when we were on the court,” Murray said on Friday. “But we spoke after the match and that was it. I have actually gotten along fine with him … apart from that day. He’s a tough, tough opponent.”
Other notable names in Murray’s side of the draw are Grigor Dimitrov and Kei Nishikori.
